The environment and printing

Deforestation happens all around the world. This is when trees are burned down or removed from a forest. This can happen for a number of reasons, including the production of paper. In 2009 fewer trees were cut down and in Brazil's Amazon jungle up to 45% less than the previous year were cut down or burned. This is becoming an issue not just in Brazil but other countries around the world.

Paper is an everyday tool that we all use, but the process of making it involves chemicals such as, chlorine, bleach and sulpher. This results in the chemicals ending up in the water which surrounds the paper mills. Often residents who live by these paper mills complain that there is a bad smell and that they cannot enjoy the water that is there, because of this.

This is another main reason as to why we should always recycle the paper we use. So that the communities where the paper mills are don't have to suffer from our pollution.
